The DTA is governed by a Board of Directors that is elected by the membership of the alliance. The Board consists of 18 members representing distributors, dental laboratories and manufacturers in proportion to the number of members in each category. The Board has several committees including the Executive Committee, the Budget and Finance Committee, the Nominating and Leadership Development Committee and the Audit Committee.

Officers of the Board include the Chairman, Chairman-Elect, 1^st Vice-Chairman, 2^nd Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Immediate Past Chairman.

The officers serve terms of one year. The directors serve terms of three years and are eligible for reappointment to a second three-year term. Terms of office take effect at the annual meeting of the DTA.
