Apple Tree Dental
Minneapolis, Minnesota
Apple Tree Dental is launching Apple Tree Dental Longevity Plan which will provide a specially tailored set of dental services to seniors and frail elders living in long-term care settings. This program will increase access to oral healthcare for this group, a rapidly growing and underserved population.
The CARES Program
University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine
Buffalo, New York
The CARES Program will provide social work services to patients in the pediatric dental clinic and their families, in order to remove barriers to dental care and increase patient access and retention. The program will engage in community outreach in traditionally marginalized communities to make families aware of the availability of services in the pediatric dental clinic, as well as to educate families about the need for regular and preventative dental care for children.
University of California, School of Dentistry
San Francisco, California
UCSF School of Dentistry will develop, implement and evaluate a train-the-trainers program
of non-dental prenatal care providers with the public health clinics system. They will be trained to incorporate oral health assessments, education and referrals into the prenatal appointments with the pregnant patients.
University of Washington School of Dentistry
Seattle, Washington
The central focus of this project is to provide an update on the status of the oral health of
America and changes that have taken place as a result of the 2000 Surgeon General’s
report on oral health. The resulting update will be presented by
Dr. David Satcher in a keynote to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
The goal is to identify next steps in implementing solutions to the updated report on oral health.
