The Board hires the Chief Executive Officer to run the day to day operations of the DTA. The Board oversees Committees that initiate and execute projects and services for DTA members.

The Directors and the Officers of the Association are elected by the membership of DTA at its annual meeting. The Officers serve terms of one year. The Directors serve terms of three years and may be reelected once. The Nominating and Leadership Development Committee is responsible for determining the slate of Officers and Directors. Half of the Nominating Committee members are elected by the general membership and half are elected by the Board.

The Board of Directors meets face to face three or four times per year. It also meets once or twice via conference calls. Between Board meetings, the Executive Committee meets via conference calls.
