Letter from Carolyn Van Eck and Vickie Waitsman
April 9
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa
"Defining Leadership - Failure is not an Option"
Dear DTA Member:
The 2007 Dental Trade Alliance Annual Meeting will be held July 24 - 27 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa in
Farmington, Pennsylvania.
See right for registration material links for the meeting.
We hope this information answers your questions about the meeting but please call if
you need more information. (DTA: (703) 379-7755).
Very Important Notice: The Nemacolin Resort is extremely popular in the summer and
we are holding our meeting at peak season. That means that it is absolutely essential that you make your
hotel reservations as soon as possible. While we have reserved what we believe to be sufficient rooms for our meeting,
please don't delay in making reservations. There are few hotel facilities in the area that provide alternative lodging.
The first event is our opening reception on Tuesday evening. Our meeting ends with dinner on Friday night.
Most attendees will arrive on Tuesday and depart on Saturday.
To the right you will find information on registration, hotel reservations, the educational program, social events, transportation, restaurants, the DTA auction and activities for children.
General Information
Weather: Summer weather at Nemacolin is warm and the mountain air should be pleasant.
Expect day time temperatures in the 80's. Evenings and nights can be cool. Jackets and sweaters are a good idea.
Remember, some of our evening events are outside.
Dress Code: The dress code for the meeting is resort casual. Jackets and ties are not required for
gentlemen (except for the closing dinner - see below).
Closing Dinner: Please note that our closing dinner this year is more formal than in the past few years.
The dinner is black tie optional. Either formal wear or a business suit is expected.
Kids: There are planned activities for children and young adults that accompany you to the meeting.
Dinner and supervised activities for kids are planned on Tuesday evening during the opening reception and on Friday evening during the closing dinner. There will be activities that are age appropriate for two groups. One group is for children 4 to 12 years of age. The second group is for children 13 - 18. The fee for these two evening events is included in the registration for your child. If you require baby-sitting services, please contact the hotel directly at 866-344-6957.
Home Address: We have asked for your home address so we may send additional activity information to
your spouse or companion. This addition was made by popular request from spouses who want more information in advance. (We will not use this address for any other purpose).
Raffle - DTA Foundation: For your convenience we have included a space on the registration form for you to
buy Raffle tickets. The Raffle benefits the DTA Foundation. If you choose to purchase in advance, your tickets will be enclosed with
your registration materials at the meeting. In addition, your badge will have a sticker that shows you have already contributed to the Raffle.
Sports and Social Activities
There will be a wide variety of sport and social events during the meeting. Some require additional fees and separate registration.
Materials describing these activities are included.
There will be an optional tour of two local Frank Lloyd Wright houses, Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, and a whitewater rafting adventure.
In addition to the planned group activities, the resort offers a large number of activities that cover a wide range of interests.
The hotel web site provides all the details, but we have included a summary in this packet. www.nemacolin.com
On Thursday afternoon you will have several sports opportunities.
Two sports tournaments will be held. Golf and tennis event registration forms are included in the packet.
Immediately following the golf and tennis tournaments there will be a reception at the golf facility.
Food and drink will be available for the sports awards ceremony. All attendees are welcome to attend the reception and awards.
Catch the shuttle or take a refreshing walk to the golf club.
Sports are very popular around at the resort. Some of you may wish to make additional reservations for golf or tennis.
Golf reservations may be made 90 days prior by calling the Pro Shop at 724-329-6111. For additional court time, the Tennis
Complex may be reached by calling the resort at 866-344-6957 and then select Option 1. This is also the number to call for
Spa and Dining Reservations.
On Friday afternoon after the close of the educational program we will have a special treat for all attendees.
A special Mountain Picnic is planned. This will take place on the property at the Mountain Lodge. Lunch will be provided along
with games and activities. We will be sending more information about this exciting event. (The picnic and planned activities
are included in your general registration fee. It does not include all resort amenities, some of which require an extra fee).
DTA Auction: The DTA Auction will be held on Friday immediately before the closing dinner.
The Auction will feature a vast array of donated items on which to bid. Please see the enclosed form for donating items to the auction.
Concierge: For information and activity reservations: 866-344-6957
We look forward to seeing you at Nemacolin for the DTA Annual Meeting.
Sincerely,
