Clayton Christensen.
Clayton Christensen: Seeing What's Next
Innovation, Technologies, and Business Authority

Clayton M. Christensen is a professor at the Harvard Business School. His research and teachings center on managing innovation and creating new growth markets.

A seasoned entrepreneur, Professor Christensen has founded three companies: CPS Corporation, a successful advanced materials manufacturing company; Innosight, a consulting and training business; and Innosight Capital that he launched with the Boston Consulting Group. Clayton has co-authored five books including the New York Times best sellers, "The Innovator's Dilemma" and "The Innovator's Solution". He served as an assistant to the US Transportation Secretaries Drew Lewis and Elizabeth Dole.

Dr. Larry Emmott Technology: Dr. Larry Emmott (Leading technology speaker and author)
Dr. Larry Emmott is an entertaining, award winning speaker and seminar leader, and is considered the leading dental high tech authority in the country. He has spoken to many dental organizations including major regional and national groups, and has been a featured speaker at every ADA technology day. A practicing general dentist in Phoenix, AZ, he graduated from the University of Southern California Dental School in 1977.

Dr. Emmott is the monthly technology columnist for Dental Products Report Magazine and has had many articles published in national magazines on High Tech dentistry, practice development, management, communications and related topics. He is the founder and director of a dental computer users group, and provides high tech dental consulting for dentists and industry. He also produces a monthly newsletter on management and computer use in the dental office, and he has developed and maintains a computer users web site.


Dr. Mark Murphy. Key Opinion Leaders: Dr. Mark Murphy (Pankey Institute)
With over 25 years experience in the dental and dental laboratory professions and recently in the dental manufacturing industries, Mark has a gestalt perspective of the various functions and relationships. A long standing role with the Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne has had significant influence on this point of view. After receiving various awards and honors within the dental profession and selling his very successful practice in 1998, he drifted towards a more global industry view and role serving with Dental Technologies Inc. and as a consultant to several manufacturers and suppliers for dentistry and the laboratory profession.

He is President of National Lab Network, a distance learning DVD and broadcast product line of National Dental Network. Mark's exposure to the lab and dental community is significant. Care Credit is releasing a DVD to over 70,000 dentists later this year featuring his 'Total Case Acceptance" lecture. Mark also is the dentist representative on the IdentAlloy Council and the Business Management Committee and for the National Association of Dental Labs and serves as the Director of Professional Relations at the Pankey Institute and on the Board of the NADL Foundation.


Dr. Jack Dillenburg Education: Dr. Jack Dillenberg (A.T. Still University)
Dr. Dillenberg is the inaugural Dean of the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health, Arizona's first dental school and is pioneering an innovative integrated biomedical curriculum. He also served as the Director of the Arizona served as the Associate Director for Public Health Programs for the California Department of Health Services. He directed the development of statewide oral health policy and evaluated the operation and effectiveness of California's oral health programs. He also served as the Area Health Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.

Dr. Dillenberg is recognized at the local, state, national and international levels as an expert in the area of public health leadership, health program development, social marketing and oral health issues. He is or has been on numerous association boards, and honors include being named CEO of the Year by the Arizona Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration.


Ann Battrell. Auxiliary: Ann Battrell (Executive Director, American Dental Hygienists' Association)
Ann Battrell is the executive director of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA). As the largest association representing the professional interests of the more than 120,000 registered dental hygienists in the United States, ADHA has an annual budget of over $6 million and approximately 40 employees.

Battrell has held multiple positions within ADHA including assistant executive director for strategic planning and education and acting director of research.

Battrell has held dental hygiene faculty positions at Northwestern University Dental School and Palm Beach Community College. While working as a dental hygiene clinician and educator, Battrell also advised a variety of dental corporations as a consultant. She's also held several leadership positions at the state and national levels. Battrell holds a master's degree in dental hygiene from the University of Missouri - Kansas City, School of Dentistry.

Dave Norton, Ph.D., is founder and principal of Stone Mantel, an insights consultancy focused on finding the marketing experiences that matter most to customers. His message is that consumer demand has evolved from the consumption of material goods to the consumption of experiences that matter. The implications of this shift impact how companies brand, their process for innovation, and the customer experience they deliver.

Dave Norton received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 2002. He studied persuasion and qualitative research methodologies. For nine years prior to launching Stone Mantel, Dave was vice president at the strategic brand firm, Yamamoto Moss.

Dave was named 2005 honored alumnus at Brigham Young University, the highest award given to alumni by the colleges. He is one of the youngest ever recipients of the award.

Marty Smith founded ethnoMETRICSsm Corporation as a six sigma based research and analysis firm committed to providing measurement driven customer solutions to business applications. His main areas of focus are marketing factors that influence the purchase experience down to the consumer level and pricing.

He has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of the 2006 ISBM Academic Practitioners award at the Kellogg Business School for work related to Bayesian and Markov Modeling in event venues. In addition he has written several papers on a variety of topics.

Learn more about dental trade shows and how attendees react on the show floor. Ethnometrics uses video cameras to study attendee and exhibitor behavior in the exhibit hall. Marty will be sharing some of the patterns he observed from the 2007 ADA Annual Session in San Francisco.

Bob Savage is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Drake Precision Dental Laboratory in Charlotte, NC. He earned his Bachelors Degree from Auburn University in 1995 and joined Drake in 1999. Bob has served on the SCDL Vision committee and currently serves on the Board of the SCDL (Southeastern Conference of Dental Laboratories).

Mr. Ed Snyder. Ed Snyder, Jr.
Managing Director, FTN Midwest Securities

Mr. Snyder has more than 16 years of equity research experience, and he joined FTN Midwest Securities in 2000 as a senior equity analyst specializing in the dental industry. In addition to dentistry, he covers orthopedic companies and the medical waste market. Prior to joining FTN Midwest, Mr. Snyder was a senior equity analyst at Roulston & Company, a money management firm based in Cleveland, Ohio.

Mr. Snyder is known for conducting extensive due diligence on companies. As a result, he has been successful in recommending the appropriate time for buying and selling the stocks he covers. During his tenure on the buy-side at Roulston & Company, the stocks he selected significantly exceeded stated benchmarks by a wide margin and contributed to the funds' five-star performance as measured by Morningstar.

Hector Calzada. Hector Calzada
Senior Vice President, Houlihan Lokey

As a member of the firm’s Financial Opinions & Advisory Services practice, he coordinates the firm’s national healthcare efforts, specializing in fairness and solvency opinions, and valuations for tax, financial reporting and transaction-related matters. His experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries encompasses numerous sectors, he's worked with profit and not-for-profit entities, and has experience with cross-border transactions. He has addressed many valuation, strategy, transaction and contractual dispute matters involving intangible assets and intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, trade names, trade secrets, copyrights and goodwill.

Mr. Calzada received his undergraduate degree in management with a concentration in finance from Tulane University and his M.B.A. from Florida International University. A member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, he is also licensed with FINRA as a General Securities Representative (Series 7 and 63).

This is an amazing story of how Gardner went from being homeless to being on Wall Street, and starting his own institutional brokerage firm which has expanded into Christopher Gardner International Holdings. His rags to riches autobiography "The Pursuit of Happyness" became a New York Times and Washington Post #1 bestseller. It was recently made into a popular major motion picture starring Will Smith. Gardner is also a humanitarian; he's a board member of the National Fatherhood Initiative, and the National Education Foundation, and works with additional groups.

He has been featured on TV on “Evening News with Dan Rather,” “20/20,” “Oprah,” “Today Show,” and more, plus he's been profiled in numerous newspapers and magazines.
