Export Workgroup

Activities

The DTA export workgroup provides up-to-date information about exporting as well as liaising with international dental expo organizers to provide DTA members with special rates, booth placement and other amenities.

  • Meeting Planning: The export workgroup is heavily involved in meeting planning for international meetings. DTA has pavilions at the IDS Meeting in Cologne, Germany; the Dentech meeting in Shanghai, China; and various FDI meetings around the world. In addition to setting up the pavilion, the export workgroup customarily makes arrangements to provide members with hotel rooms, exhibitor lounges, private meeting spaces, translators, shipping and other amenities.
  • Expansion: The export workgroup assesses the possibility of expanding DTA’s activities to other meetings.
  • Website: The DTA website provides extensive information for international dental meetings including dates, contact information and attendance figures for previous meetings around the globe. The workgroup is examining the possibility of listing distributor contacts for international markets, as well as providing detailed statistics, such as population, active dentists and dental meetings, for individual countries.
  • Universal Accreditation: The export workgroup works with the DTA regulatory committee to promote universal accreditation for all dental products by U.S. manufacturers. This would allow a single regulatory body to test and approve products to a single safety standard, permitting companies to sell their products in multiple markets with less paperwork, import fees and approval fees.
  • Meetings: The export workgroup meets in Chicago during the Chicago Midwinter Meeting, at the ADA Annual Session and the Greater New York Dental Meeting in New York City.
