More than 100 dental manufacturers, distributor, laboratory and industry supplier companies were represented at the 2018 Annual Meeting October 14-17 at the beautiful Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa Valley, California to celebrate the Power of Connection.

Best-selling author and futurist Mike Walsh kicked off the Annual Meeting by talking about the importance of reinventing what leadership means in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). The conversations continued with Dr. Marci Russell, former Chief Economist of CNBC, talking about the 2018 global economic forecast and Robert Stephens, the former CTO of Best Buy and the founder of Geek Squad, shared his perspectives on uses of advancing technology and how to identify the next “big thing”. Last, but not least, attendees listened to Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter, a founding member of Steely Dan, as he talked about how you can use unconventional problem-solving strategies to solve real-world problems.  He also played a few tunes to help prove his point.

After the educational program, members enjoyed the best of what Napa Valley has to offer. From hitting the green in the annual Golf Tournament to touring and eating dinner in a Tuscan-inspired castle and winery-- there was something for everyone.

On the last night of the annual meeting, a record-breaking amount was raised at the silent auction and paddle raiser events for DTA Foundation’s grants and scholarship programs. DTA members came together to raise more than $130,000 at the Fund-A-Future paddle raiser and more than $85,000 at the silent auction.

A special “thank you” goes out to all attendees and sponsors for supporting another successful DTA Annual Meeting! We look forward to seeing you all at the 2019 Annual Meeting, November 5-8 at the beautiful JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura, Florida!
