2019 Washington Conference
Join us May 7-8 to continue the momentum we've kept going the past several years in familiarizing congressional leaders with the issues that are vital to our industry. We are proud of the strides we've made in educating our leaders in DC about the oral health topics that concern us, and pleased to see that our influence has been having an impact. Progress has been made in forging relationships with congressional leaders in DC, as well as by members in their home states. We need your help in facilitating our continuing efforts.
The DTA Washington Conference provides members with an effective way to become involved in federal legislation, This two-day, member-only event starts with a briefing on Tuesday afternoon, and provides personal and individual tips and guidelines to help prepare for Congressional visits which occur on Wednesday. DTA members will visit with their members of Congress and staff to discuss oral health and industry issues and are also encouraged to invite members of Congress to visit their businesses to develop ongoing relationships and dialogue. Last year DTA member John Frymark (Young Innovations) mentioned "For me, it is a good chance to play a civic role in our democracy. I’ve learned that elected officials are far more accessible than I thought prior to my involvement in the Washington conference. This year, I met with many of the same people I met with last year so it was excellent relationship building as they recalled our prior discussions and I had a chance to say thank you for items which actually saw a change."
"After years of being actively involved in the DTA, this year marked my first time participating in the Washington Conference." said Dan Dixon, VP of Business Development for Kavo Kerr Group. "It is a perfect example of how individual companies can leverage our position as members of the DTA on a broader scale, to have influence on oral healthcare. One could really sense our combined efforts as a living example of ‘democracy at work’. Truly a valuable and rewarding experience!”
The deadline to register for the conference is May 1.
