We aim to develop conjugated biopolymers and/or biomimetic polymers, such as a new category of peptide-like polymers (peptoids) to target and bind specific bacteria causing BSI, primarily S. mitis, and Escherichia coli/E.coli as a well known BSI causing model bacteria. When added to a mouthwash, cleansing gel, or pad, these polymers would selectively bind to and block bacteria binding, and prevent biofilm formation consequently.
