“Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an innovate technology which has the potential to serve as an alternative to dental X-rays for patients with developmental disabilities or other special needs,” said Dr. Alireza Sadr, acting associate professor, Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. “University of Washington DECOD Clinic provides services patients with developmental and acquired disabilities. This grant is a step forward for us to demonstrate that using the newly developed imaging method early and accurate imaging of tooth in this population is possible.”
