2min2x Brushing Success


Is the hashtag familiar? It should be. After the combined efforts of the Ad Council and the Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives, Americans have become familiar with the call to make sure kids brush two minutes, twice a day. The Kids’ Healthy Mouths campaign continues to reach tens of thousands of parents, caregivers and oral health supporters every day through social media. The 2min2x social media campaign focuses on reaching out to parents, caregivers and those in the oral health care community with information about oral health, tips about getting kids to brush and encouragement to keep engaged with kids’ oral health. Stakeholders receive a weekly email with the latest news and social media shareables. For example, a recent newsletter including the following:

Make a resolution today to help children successfully take charge of their oral health this year! Here are a few easy things parents and caregivers can do to help kids reach their healthy mouth goals in 2017:

  1. Brush together for two minutes, twice a day.
  2. Floss together every evening.
  3. Schedule a dental checkup for your kids every six months.
  4. Practice whole body health by exercising. Make it fun by doing simple bathroom exercises like running in place at the sink for 30 seconds between brushing and flossing!

Give your kids’ teeth a workout by providing nutritious snacks, such as fruit and veggies that help the mouth produce more saliva to fight plaque!
