Dental Trade Alliance Announces Newly Elected Board Members
Dave Steck, VP and GM, Henry Schein Dental North America Named Board Chair

WASHINGTON, DC / December 4, 2019 - The Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) proudly announces New Board Chair, Second Vice-Chair, and Directors-at-Large, elected during the alliance’s annual meeting on November 6, 2019:

Board Chair Dave Steck

Dave Steck serves as the Vice President and General Manager of Henry Schein’s North American Dental Group. Steck was elected to the DTA Board of Directors in 2015 and served on the Nominating Committee, Audit Committee, and Audit Chair since 2018. Steck will Chair the DTA Executive Committee.

After the gavel passing during the 2019 Annual Meeting in Aventura, Florida, Steck addressed the membership focusing on the importance of DTA as their trade association. As Board Chair, Steck’s focus will be on “Opportunities” -- for the members and the dental industry at large. With the significant and rapid change in the market, he encouraged the membership to engage with the DTA and embrace the opportunities offered to them as members. He highlighted some of the changes that DTA, and it’s members, will face in the upcoming year but urged them to look at them as changes, not as challenges, and as opportunities to explore. Finally, he encouraged the membership to look on the horizon at a new decade, a refreshed strategic direction, and the introduction of a new DTA CEO.

Second Vice-Chair Tim Rogan

Tim Rogan began his Patterson Dental career in 1993 as a sales representative in Boston, holding management positions as General Manager in Maine and Metro NY/NJ, the North Central Regional President and VP of Marketing, and his current position as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Patterson Dental.

Rogan was elected to the DTA Board of Directors in 2018 and also serves on the Boards of Directors for the DTA Foundation and Dental Lifeline Network. His understanding of the dental industry, with his extensive experience as both a sales representative and business leader, has been invaluable while serving on committees and attending countless industry events. “My career in the dental industry has been exciting, unpredictable and ultimately very rewarding,” he said reflecting on his career. “I look forward to serving on the DTA Board as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of our industry.”

Members At Large Scot Andersen, Ted Kehagias, Linda Miller, and Marv Nelson

Scot Andersen is a business development and sales executive with over 25 years of experience in the dental and medical trade industry. He started his career as a Regional Manager for Hardy Diagnostics before going on to co-found OraTech, LLC. Andersen currently serves as the Director of Business Development of Ultradent Products.

Ted Kehagias is the Vice President of Sales, Dental Division for the Midmark Corporation. Prior to joining Midmark in 2007, he held positions as Branch Manager, Region Manager and VP of Sales for Patterson Dental Supply and Patterson Veterinary Supply. He has served on the DTA Exhibits Group Committee since 2014 and currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Center of Research & Education in Technology (CRET). He will serve on the DTA Nominating Committee.

Linda Miller is the CEO of Paradise Dental Technologies (PDT, Inc.), which she founded in her two-car garage in 2000. Prior to founding PDT, Inc., Miller was one of the fourteen founders of American Eagle Instruments, where she continued her career as a Quality Assurance Manager before transitioning into sales. She will serve on the DTA Executive Committee as an at-large member.

Marv Nelson currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of A-dec, Inc., where he started his dental industry career in 2006 as the VP Chief Financial Officer. Nelson brings nearly 14 years of industry experience to the table and hopes to work with other industry leaders on the DTA board to do what he can to “contribute to this great industry.” He will serve on the DTA Audit Committee.
