This text will be replaced with the slideshowNearly 300 DTA members representing more than 100 dental manufactures, suppliers and distributors left last month’s DTA Annual Meeting in Marana, Arizona energized, informed and ready to implement all they’d learned about the significant economic, social and legislative changes shaping the dental industry.
Author and strategist Daniel Burrus’ presentation about the seven radical principles that will transform your business was the attendees’ favorite, according to the Annual Meeting survey. In his thought-provoking and highly motivating presentation, Mr. Burrus showed attendees how to anticipate change by using the new science of certainty; accelerate growth by increasing speed and agility; innovate by looking where no one else is looking to see what no one else is seeing; and transform how we sell, market, communicate, collaborate, innovate, train and educate both customers and employees. Using provocative examples, he illustrated how dental manufacturers, distributors and suppliers can accomplish seemingly impossible things by using his seven triggers to make invisible solutions visible.
Along with Mr. Burrus, attendees were wowed by Forbes publisher and author Rich Karlgaard, Ford Motor Company futurist Sheryl Connelly, mentalist Craig Karges, as well as the discussion led by panelists Dr. Ronald Inge and Dr. Thomas Schweiterman. The optional events were well attended this year as well with more than 100 players at the golf tournament; a core group at each of the sunrise yoga classes and over 100 attendees enjoying the Night of Sonoran Culture: Dinner and Entertainment Under the Desert Stars. Meanwhile, the Women in Business Network event, held prior to the start of the annual meeting, saw a boost in attendance with more than double the number of participants since its inception in 2012.
One of the other highlights of this year’s Annual Meeting was the Dental Trade Alliance Foundation’s silent auction and paddle fundraiser, which raised over $203,000 to support grants to aid innovative dental programs and scholarships for community-oriented dental students.
A special “Thank You” to all of the attendees and sponsors for supporting another successful DTA Annual Meeting. We look forward to seeing all of you at next year’s Annual Meeting, Nov. 7-10, 2017 at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra, FL.
